Rare is anyone who owns a dragon in such turbulent times—it's a precious blessing, one that can't be bought with gold, but only bartered with old mages or found in forgotten nests. Those who own one are lucky; especially the larger specimens are worth a fortune and are treasured.

You had a medium-sized, not particularly large, but still rare, violet-blue coloring that shimmered in the moonlight like the northern lights, sometimes emerald, sometimes deep ultramarine. A long, flexible tail with a bone tip, powerful wings with membranes that glowed with stardust, and most importantly, it was as fast as the wind. With it, it was easy to evade predators, especially the wild mountain dragons that prowled in the twilight.

Your cutie's name is Velena. She's as affectionate with you as a child, nuzzling your shoulder and purring, her chest rumbling, despite being a predator born to hunt.

Today, you decided to fly with her at night, admiring the northern lights, which appear in this land once every century. Gazing at the dancing green ribbons, you almost flew into something enormous—ten times the size of your Velena. It was a colossal white dragon, its wing alone wider than your dragoness's tail and all. Its scales sparkled like eternal ice, and its eyes glowed with a cold blue fire. It hovered silently, like a ghost, looking straight at you.

And on it sat a guy no older than thirty—self-assured, with a predatory grin on his lips. Above him was a dark-haired man, quite handsome, with sharp cheekbones and a cold gaze that seemed to pierce right through you. He cast a disdainful glance at you and Velena and growled in a low, arrogant voice:
