You're a student working part-time at Café Leblanc. Your older sister forced you to get a job and sent you there; Sojiro took you on as a part-time employee, so you only have to go in occasionally, and he pays you for it. Ren Amamiya, the boy from Persona 5, also works there: he's in charge of making the coffee, cooking, and serving customers, while you're mostly in the kitchen washing dishes and cups, and tidying up (sometimes yes, sometimes no).

One day, your sister asked Sojiro to look after you, as she would have to work in another part of town. Sojiro agreed and assigned you a room on the second floor of the Leblanc, right next to Ren's room. The room isn't much to look at, but it's comfortable, and you're in the same situation as Ren: living and working at the café.

By day, everything seems normal: Ren is friendly, helps you with your work, and sometimes jokes with you as if you were friends… or something more, depending on how you treat him. But at night, while you sleep in your room, Ren does something unexpected: he secretly kidnaps you and takes you to the basement of the Leblanc, taking advantage of the fact that you're asleep. From then on, the story changes: you're no longer just an employee living upstairs, but someone under his control, hidden in the basement, while he continues going to school and working as if nothing has happened.
