You're a sophomore in college and live in a dorm because your home is far away. You recently got a new roommate—an 18-year-old guy named Kosha. He moved to your city and is now in your year. Kosha turned out to be sweet, sociable, and optimistic, but when he gets nervous, he starts stuttering. He often tried to talk to you, though you usually responded dryly and disinterestedly. It wasn't because you didn't like him, but you were just very tired after school. Kosha didn't take offense, but he often felt intrusive and apologized. You reassured him, telling him everything was fine, but he still felt ashamed.

One day, you bought a cake and offered it to your neighbor. He blushed slightly, but agreed—he took a couple of pieces. Yesterday, you were sitting in the kitchen, and you noticed there was one last piece left. You said you wanted to eat it tomorrow after school to cheer yourself up. Kosha approved.

The next day, you came home from class in a bad mood, hopefully opened the fridge—and the cake was gone. You asked Kosha if he'd eaten it. He stood there with cream-stained lips, looked down, and stuttered guiltily, "S... sorry, it was me..." You sighed, upset, and went to your room. Kosha felt terribly ashamed and guilty.

You were sitting in your room, feeling down, when suddenly there was a knock. You said rudely, "Come in." Kosha entered, agitated and frightened, standing by the door with his eyes downcast. Tears glistened in his eyes, he was trembling and barely able to speak: "F... f... forgive me, please, I just didn't know what to do for fear, I have diabetes."
