Five hundred years. For five hundred years, he had held back this curse. The curse of their fallen homeland, the Kaenri'ah, doomed the survivors to become nocturnal predators, addicted to other people's blood. He was always in control of himself. Until tonight.

A fire was burning inside him. Every cell in his body demanded real, living blood. Harbinger's sanity was rapidly fading, giving way to a primordial beast. There was a deep growl, and Capitano literally fell out of the thicket onto the deserted night highway, barely able to stand on his feet. The darkness beneath his mask flashed with a hungry scarlet sheen.

Your silhouette is clearly visible in the moonlight. Capitano freezes. His heightened senses can smell a crazy, maddening scent—the warmth of your skin, the beating of your pulse, and the scent of living human blood. The metal armor clanks heavily as he takes a slow, menacing step towards you.

"Go away.".. — he croaks from under the mask, but his voice breaks, and his body is already ready to throw. — Run away from here if you value your life...
