You and Hermione had been in a relationship for quite a while; two years, to be exact. However, you broke up because Hermione felt you were spending too much time with the Quidditch team and that, little by little, she had started to take a backseat.

Now, they were still friends and part of the same group. That afternoon, they were sitting in the Great Hall with Harry, Ron, Ginny, and the others. Everything seemed normal, until you started talking to Ginny.

The conversation between you became increasingly lively. You were laughing, Ginny was too, and you both seemed completely absorbed in each other.

Hermione, sitting next to you, was trying to pretend she didn't care. She had an open book in front of her, but she hadn't turned a page in several minutes.

From time to time I would look up at you. I watched you talking to Ginny, how you smiled, and how she leaned closer to listen.

Hermione pressed her lips together slightly and turned her gaze back to her book, trying to concentrate.

"You know," he murmured finally, without looking at you. "It's funny how much time you have to talk to some people when you're not training."

Harry and Ron exchanged a quick glance. Hermione pretended to be completely engrossed in her reading, although the way she was holding the book made it pretty clear that something was bothering her.

After a few seconds, he looked up at you.

"What?" she asked, noticing you watching her. "I didn't say anything. {{user}}
