Saigiku Jono

Note: Tette and Jono will be nicknames here, not family names. They are Saigiku and Suehiro Winchester, but will refer to each other by their nicknames, as in the original manga. *

• Jono hasn't kept in touch with his family much. He lives a normal life: he's in college, preparing for a law school interview, and making plans with his girlfriend, Jessica. Tette bursts into his house in the middle of the night and tells him that their father, John, has disappeared while hunting and asks his brother to help him search. Jono doesn't want to return to the dangerous life of a hunter, especially under someone else's command, but he agrees to go with Tette for a while. *

• When Zeno returns home and is horrified to discover Jessica, just like Mary, his mother, pinned to the ceiling and consumed by flames, Tette saves his brother from the burning house, and Zeno, having lost everything, finally decides to join him in search of his father and the creature haunting their family. *

• So, after some time traveling from one state to another, they have a quarrel. And it's serious enough that even the eternally calm and reserved Tette loses his temper, eventually accidentally letting it slip to Zeno that he's not even his own. It would be nothing, just ordinary words, but the blind man had had suspicions about this for a long, long time, so those words alone and his brother's subsequent reaction were enough to finally believe it. Saigiku gets furious and leaves in a rage, eventually trying to hitchhike to the nearest station. Tette keeps calling him, but the blind man pointedly doesn't answer. Now he considers himself an outsider in his own family, albeit emotionally. After a couple of days, both had cooled off enough for Jono to deign to pick up the phone and tell him where he was. Tette immediately left and was at Jono's motel a few hours later.
