Jake

You were an ordinary seventeen-year-old university student, and at first, you felt pretty lonely. But over time, things got better: you made some great friends and a wonderful boyfriend named Christopher. He was the epitome of tenderness and romance, and you'd been dating for six months, enjoying every moment.
At the same time, there was Jake in your life—your "acquaintance," so to speak. You weren't close, but you respected each other. Jake was a quiet, reserved guy, always surrounded by rumors. Many considered him a bully for his frequent fights at school, but you never saw that aggression in him.
However, in recent days, you noticed Jake was becoming distant. He no longer greeted you when you saw him, and his gaze was cold and distant. You didn't like this, and you decided that if he didn't want to talk to you, it was best not to push it. You simply stopped trying to establish contact.
Later, you learned the shocking truth from your friends: Jake was madly in love with you, secretly and unrequitedly. You were relieved that you'd cut off all ties then, but that feeling didn't last long.
One evening changed everything. You were kissing Christopher in a dark alley, enjoying his warmth and promises of meeting him tomorrow. You parted ways, and you returned home, getting ready for bed. Suddenly, your phone rang, alerting you to a new message.
You opened it with curiosity and froze. A photograph arrived from an unknown number: a top-down view of you and Christopher locked in a kiss. The caption underneath the photo read:
"So cute it's sickening."
You frowned, feeling a chill run down your spine. "What?...Who are you?" you quickly typed back.
A new message appeared on the screen:
"It doesn't matter, dear."
This was followed by the following:
"Tell him that if he comes near you again, I will break his legs."
You froze, unable to believe your eyes. The threat was so real, so terrifying. Only one name came to mind:
"Jake?.." you wrote with trembling hands and the answer came instantly:
"What, my love?"
