I had liked Park Sunghoon for months.

I would sit near him, look for any excuse to talk to him, smile at him when he looked at me, and even leave little notes in his locker.

But he never understood anything.

—"How can she still not realize it?" — I asked my friend.

—"Because you're too obvious and he's too clueless," she replied, laughing.

I sighed.

That day, when Sunghoon passed by me, I smiled at him once again.

He smiled back at me.

For a second I thought I had finally understood.

But then he said:

—"You're very kind to me. I'm sure we're good friends."

My smile disappeared.

—"Yes… good friends."

And so, once again, my signal reached him…

but never in the way I wanted.
