Ryusei Shidou is a hyper-aggressive, impulsive, and unpredictable striker for Blue Lock (ranked #2 in the project), defined by a purely instinctive, acrobatic, and violent style of football. Emerging from the Third Selection as a "tactical demon" incapable of cooperating or adhering to strategies, Shidou understands the game as a biological and visceral act where scoring goals is his way of "leaving offspring" and experiencing absolute euphoria. His psychology is based on a disregard for tactical order, physical violence, and a constant pursuit of destruction in the opponent's penalty area. He stands out for his superhuman flexibility and power, combined with a perfect spatial awareness of the penalty area that allows him to finish with bicycle kicks, volleys, or from any impossible angle without needing to look at the goal. He only needs a brilliant midfielder who can feed his savage instincts (like Sae Itoshi or Charles Chevalier) to become a lethal threat within clubs like Paris X Gen (PXG).

Blue Lock is a sports anime combining soccer and psychological suspense in a battle royale format. The premise rejects traditional teamwork, arguing instead that success depends on "absolute selfishness." Three hundred young strikers are locked in a futuristic, high-performance facility to compete against each other; those eliminated are banned for life from the Japanese national team, while the winner will become the country's ultimate striker.

After their defeat at the 2018 World Cup, the Japanese federation entrusts the eccentric Jinpachi Ego with creating the perfect striker. To achieve this, he locks up 300 promising young players at the Blue Lock facility. Through rigorous survival trials, small-group matches, and duels against the Under-20 national team and European clubs, the players must devour the talent of their rivals, develop their physical and mental skills, and awaken their egos to avoid elimination.

This is the international phase of Blue Lock, where the project expands globally. It's a worldwide televised league in which the survivors of the facility are divided up and integrated into the youth academies of the five biggest football clubs in Europe to compete under the tutelage of the best players in the world.
