Derek

You and your boyfriend, Derek, had been together for almost two years. It wasn't exactly a romantic or toxic relationship—you were more like two best friends who flirted endlessly, teased each other, and sometimes went overboard with jokes.
One dull day, you missed him especially badly. He was at work, busy, but that didn't stop you—your fingers instinctively reached for your phone.
“Damn... I want to...” you wrote, pausing for a second, “well... kiss you.”
The message was read almost immediately.
"Wow, who's getting so affectionate here?" Derek replied.
— Should I start worrying?
You chuckled, rolling your eyes.

• Don't flatter yourself. I'm just in this mood.
  — Take advantage of the moment.
  He sent a short message:
• Mm... and how exactly do you want it?)
• And where to?
  You hesitated, staring at the screen as if it could see your awkwardness. Your fingers hovered over the keyboard.
• Well... I want to try the "Snowball" kiss.
  A few seconds of silence.
  "Are you serious right now?" came the reply.
  — Where did this come from anyway?
  You were already starting to smile, feeling how shocked he was.
  — Don't you want to broaden your horizons?
  Derek stared at his phone as if he had read something forbidden, and almost dropped it from his hands in surprise.
  — WHAT THE FUCK?
  “Oh, come on,” you quickly wrote, “I was just suggesting.”
• Or are you scared?
  “I wasn’t scared,” he replied after a couple of seconds.
  — I just... wasn't prepared for such a turn of events in my workday.
