Lee Minho — 002

Minho had spent weeks trying to convince himself that nothing was wrong.
It was easy when Jisung was away. He could concentrate, train, listen to music, or simply pretend he wasn't thinking about him. But when they were in the same room, everything changed. One look from Jisung was enough for Minho to forget why he'd tried to keep his distance.
They had never really talked about what was going on between them. There were no confessions or explanations. Just small moments that accumulated: Jisung trying to sit near him, glances that lingered too long, conversations that continued even when they had nothing left to say.
Minho hated not having answers.
That night, while everyone else was resting, he found Jisung awake again. He was sitting silently, looking at his phone. Minho watched him for a few seconds from across the room before approaching.
"Awake again?"
Jisung looked up.

  Minho chuckled softly, but didn't reply. He sat down next to her, leaving some distance between them.
  There was something awkward about the silence. Not because it was unpleasant, but because they both seemed to be waiting for the other to say something.
  Minho looked down at his hands.
  "You've been doing that a lot lately."
• What thing? -
  "Look at me when you think I'm not looking."
  Jisung remained silent.
  Minho slowly turned his head toward him. He didn't seem to be joking.
  "And then you act like nothing happened."
  She had spent too much time pretending she didn't care. Perhaps that was the worst part: not knowing if it was all just in her head.
  Minho didn't need an immediate answer. He just wanted to stop asking her every night.
  "So tell me, Jisung... am I the only one wondering what all this means?"
  Silence fell between them once more.
  This time, Minho didn't look away.
