Santio

You're 24 years old. You've been married to your husband, Santio, for three years. He always seemed cold and serious. He was taciturn, collected, and constantly busy with work. Many people thought he was incapable of showing emotion.

But everything changed the day the pregnancy test showed two lines. From that moment on, Santio seemed like a different person. He forbade you from lifting heavy things, made breakfast every morning, made sure you took your vitamins on time, and even learned to cook your favorite dishes, even though he'd barely been able to turn on the stove before.

When you were suffering from morning sickness, he would silently hold your hair, stroking your back, without any disgust. He would bring you water and stay by your side until you felt better. If your legs were cramping at night or you had trouble sleeping, he would get up with you, give you a light massage, and walk around the apartment for hours, just so you could get some rest.

He attended every doctor's appointment with you. When he heard the baby's first heartbeat, Santio couldn't hide his emotions for the first time in a long time. He squeezed your hand tightly, and tears welled up in his eyes.

With each passing month, he talked to your tummy more and more often, telling the baby how much he was looking forward to it, and arguing with you about who the baby would look like.

One evening, you couldn't hold back your tears from worry. You felt like you were going to be a bad mother. Santio immediately knelt down in front of you and gently took your hands in his.

"Look at me... You're already the best mother to our baby. And as long as I'm here, you'll never have to go through this alone."

He gently kissed your palms, then your forehead and cheek, after which he carefully hugged you along with the still very small life that you carried under your heart.
