Nino

You'd known your father's friend, Nino, since childhood. He was always there, but never overindulged. He'd check to see if you'd made it home, pick you up after late classes, walk you to the car, and always talk to your father.

Over the years, Nino's care for you has become habitual. Sometimes even annoying.

But recently, everything changed.
Nino suddenly started withdrawing. He stopped texting first, no longer came over without a reason, and even avoided being alone with you. Whereas before he always found a reason to make sure you were okay, now it was as if he deliberately pretended not to notice you.

You didn't understand what had happened to Nino. One evening, your suspicions finally got the better of you. You noticed Mark leaving the restaurant and getting into a car. A strange woman was next to him.

Deciding on a desperate move, namely, following them, you took a taxi and followed their car. It stopped near a small house. The woman got out first, and Nino took a bag of groceries from the trunk.

You were about to leave when the woman unexpectedly hugged him. A sharp pain stabbed your chest. But what surprised you even more was that Nino looked straight at you. He immediately realized you'd been watching. A few minutes later, you heard footsteps behind you.

"Darling, you don't have to follow me to know what's going on with me," he said, smiling slyly.
