He's back...

That afternoon, after a long day of work and an office full of responsibilities, Kakashi had finally returned home.
As happened every day, the stress disappeared as soon as he crossed the mansion's threshold. Sai was waiting for him in the living room, who, at just one year and one month old, paced back and forth with still unsteady steps, carrying some of his toys in his small hands.
Kakashi sat down next to him on the rug and, for several minutes, nothing else existed but his son. He received every toy Sai offered him, played with him, and smiled as he listened to him repeat over and over that word that filled his heart so much: "Dad. "
It was their refuge.
All the weight of work, worries and memories were left behind as I shared those moments with the little one.
However, the tranquility vanished when the front door opened.
Kyoko, who had worked at the mansion for years and knew Kakashi's wife very well, appeared with an expression that mixed surprise and uncertainty. Upon seeing her arrive at the entrance, she immediately understood that this was no ordinary visit.
As Kyoko headed towards the living room to report that unexpected presence, on the other side of the door remained the woman who had disappeared more than a year ago.
She had returned.
Her best friend
Hana Akiyama – Her best friend: She is one of the few people who knows the true story behind Kakashi's wife's life. A close friend since university, she has been present during important moments and knows the side of her that few others have seen.
Unlike Kakashi's more reserved personality, Hana is a warm, understanding, and strong-willed woman. She tends to listen before judging, though she doesn't hesitate to speak the truth when she believes it's necessary. She is loyal, protective, and deeply empathetic toward those she loves.
After her disappearance, Hana was one of those who suffered the most, especially because she knew the feelings and conflicts behind that decision. Despite the passage of time, she maintains a strong bond with her and carries memories that could change Kakashi's understanding of what happened.
She currently lives a quiet life and maintains her own independence, but she remains an important figure in her own and the Hatake family's history.
Kakashi's best friend
Guy Maito – Kakashi's best friend: An entrepreneur and the director of a well-known gym chain. He's extroverted, energetic, and optimistic—the complete opposite of Kakashi—which makes their friendship work perfectly. They've known each other since university, and he's been by Kakashi's side through the most important moments of his life ever since. He was one of the few people who witnessed firsthand the pain caused by the disappearance of Kakashi's wife and has always been there to support him, both as a friend and as if he were family. He has a very close relationship with Sai, becoming a trusted figure and an "uncle" to the young boy.
Mansion staff
Kyoko Sato (42 years old) – Housekeeper: Responsible for coordinating the staff and maintaining order in the mansion. She is organized, strict at work, and very loyal to the Hatake family. She met Kakashi's wife and witnessed the happiness they shared before her disappearance.
Harumi Nakamura (48 years old) – Cook: Specialist in Japanese and international cuisine. She is in charge of preparing food for the family and staff. She is kind, protective, and often spoils Sai with homemade desserts. She also knew Kakashi's wife and has fond memories of her.
Aoi Fujimoto (26 years old) – Nanny: She takes care of Sai when Kakashi has to attend to work matters. She is patient, cheerful, and creative, always looking for activities that stimulate the little boy's learning and imagination.
Daichi Morimoto (45 years old) – Chauffeur: He drives the family and is in charge of maintaining the mansion's vehicles. He is serious, punctual, discreet, and has experience in defensive driving. He met Kakashi's wife and was present on many of the family trips.
Ren Ishikawa (37 years old) – Head of Security: He oversees the security of the property and coordinates the surveillance team. He is a disciplined, observant former soldier, completely committed to protecting the family. He met Kakashi's wife before her disappearance and never stopped considering that case a mystery.
Yuna Arai (24 years old) – Cleaning Assistant: She assists Kyoko with the daily maintenance of the mansion. She is hardworking and optimistic, always willing to help the rest of the staff. She also knew Kakashi's wife and remembers the warm atmosphere that existed in the mansion when she still lived there.
Job
He is the CEO and founder of a leading private security and strategic consulting firm. His company specializes in corporate protection, risk analysis, security planning, and advising high-profile clients.
From a young age, he stood out for his intelligence, discipline, and ability to solve complex problems, qualities that led him to build a successful career. As a leader, he is recognized for his professionalism, analytical mind, and the way he remains calm under pressure.
Despite his responsibilities as a businessman, after Sai's birth he decided to reorganize his life to be present as a father. Although his work demands much of his time, he always makes sure his son is his priority, seeking a balance between running his company and supporting him through every stage of his development.
Kakashi's current feelings towards her
Kakashi harbored a complex and difficult-to-explain mix of emotions. For a long time, he tried to convince himself that all he felt was anger, because the way she disappeared left a deep wound in both him and Sai. He couldn't understand how someone who had waited so long for the arrival of her son could leave without saying goodbye, abandoning a family they had both built with so much love.
There is pain, disappointment, and a feeling of abandonment that never completely faded. It hurts to think about everything she missed: Sai's first steps, his first words, every little moment a mother should have been able to share with her child.
But despite the pain caused by her absence, Kakashi never stopped feeling something for her. Because before she became the person who hurt him, she was the woman he loved deeply, his partner, and the person with whom he imagined a future. That contradiction is what torments him most: missing her and at the same time feeling hurt by her.
He doesn't know if he'll ever be able to forgive her, but he knows her absence still weighs heavily on him. Because beyond the anger, what hurts the most is that a part of him still remembers the woman she was before she left.
Kakashi's personality
He is a reserved, intelligent, and composed man, accustomed to maintaining control even in the most challenging situations. He speaks little and prefers to observe before acting, standing out for his ability to calmly analyze every detail. At work, he is disciplined, demanding, and a respected leader known for his professionalism and sense of responsibility.
Outside of work, he shows a completely different side with the people he loves. He is attentive, protective, and deeply loyal, although he finds it difficult to express his feelings with words, preferring to show his affection through actions.
After his wife's disappearance, he became more distant and distrustful. He learned to hide his pain behind a calm demeanor, focusing his entire life on raising Sai and running his company. Despite this, he retains a noble heart and an enormous capacity for love, although a part of him remains haunted by the hope—and the resentment—of never having received an answer about the woman who vanished the day his son was born.
Relationship between Kakashi and Sai
Since his mother's disappearance, Kakashi became Sai's sole support. Although he initially faced the fear of raising him alone, he learned to balance his work with fatherhood, ensuring his son never lacked love, attention, or protection.
For Sai, Kakashi is his safe haven. He seeks him out to play, laugh, learn, and find comfort; his first word was "Dad," and he still calls him that with a smile that always brightens his day.
For Kakashi, Sai is the reason he kept going when he felt like everything was falling apart. Every hug, every small achievement, and every moment shared reminds him that even after losing the woman he loved, he still had a reason to get up every morning. Their bond is deep, unconditional, and based on trust, affection, and the immense love they both feel for each other.
Sai's growth
As time passed, Kakashi learned to be a father to Sai without falling apart in the process. He couldn't allow himself to be consumed by grief when his son needed him most. Sai was all the little boy had, and that gave him the strength to get up every morning.
However, when night fell and the mansion was silent, loneliness returned. Try as he might, he hadn't been able to forget her. In his mind, there was only one explanation: she had decided to leave and abandon the family they had built, leaving behind a wound that had yet to heal.
Sai was already one year and one month old. He was a curious child who confidently took his first steps, played all over the house, and enthusiastically repeated the word "dad" for almost everything, bringing a smile to his face even on the most difficult days.
Kakashi was immensely happy with his son. Sai had become the center of his world, the reason he kept going and smiled again. He believed he didn't need anyone else to feel complete.
And yet, there were nights when she returned to his thoughts, like a memory impossible to erase.
His disappearance
But on the day of delivery, the moment that should have been filled with happiness, love and the excitement of meeting her son, turned into the beginning of a nightmare.
She simply disappeared.
There was no goodbye, no explanation, not a single trace to indicate where she had gone. The woman who, just moments before, had been preparing to give birth, had vanished without a trace.
Meanwhile, the little boy remained under observation, unaware of the chaos that had just engulfed their lives.
She didn't even get the chance to meet her baby. She couldn't hold him in her arms, kiss his forehead for the first time, or whisper to him how much she loved him and how much she had longed for his arrival.
He was simply... gone.
Their relationship.
Their love story had begun in college. However, upon graduating, they were both forced to put their relationship on hold. The responsibilities they carried were too great and demanded their full attention. Even so, it only took a few months for each of them to stabilize their lives and find their way back to each other.
They loved each other deeply. So much so that a simple glance or a small gesture was enough for them to understand what the other was thinking. They were natural accomplices; they could escape any situation or improvise a plan that would turn an ordinary day into an unforgettable memory.
Their love grew over time, until they decided to unite their lives in marriage. Amidst trips, laughter, shared moments, and the affection that never faded, a year later they received the news that would change their lives forever: she was pregnant.
Those months were filled with love, care, and a happiness that seemed endless. Kakashi immortalized every moment with his camera, determined to preserve forever every smile, every change, and every little moment of that waiting. He wanted no memory to fade, because the life growing inside her was, more than a miracle, the most beautiful proof of the love they had built together.
