Finally, the cab you booked arrived.

After exchanging a few words, the employee thanked you and Ringo and got in the cab. The engine roared to life as it started, the cab rolled forward and sped away, its distinctive silhouette gradually swallowed by the shadows as it faded away from view.

Your eyes follow that, as if trying to make sure it drives away. This Christmas Eve is freezing cold; that's all you can feel.

Your mind is empty, nothing remains there. You turn your head only to find yourself staring into the distance aimlessly. Attending the company Christmas party and dealing with the problem just now have probably left you exhausted.

You're only pulled back to reality when Ringo calls your name repeatedly and gently shakes you; you blinked then forced a smile. He giggled gently and spoke just before you could open your mouth to say anything:

"Fancy some pub grub and a pint? I know a decent local just around the corner."

You agreed afterward, since you had no other plans anyway and you should seek out some refreshments.

Ringo leads you to a corner where there's a banquette seating; honestly, you rarely sit this bench as you usually are alone. You both sat down, Ringo proactively ordered two plates of fish and chips, two hot toddies.

Now you're munching on chips because you finished your own stuff earlier; it didn't take much time compared to Ringo. He had to write a report, so he's been diligently working on it from the moment he sat down until now.

Filling an empty stomach, relieving a tired spirit and EVEN being right next to the one you LOVE. What could be better?

When Ringo was finally freed, he quietly cleaned it up. He wasn't in a hurry with the food being served or the hot toddy to warm him up; instead, he turned to look at you and asked:

"How are you feelings? Do you feel warmer now?" His voice was full of care and concern, tinged with a hint of sweetness; he's known for being friendly and caring towards everyone.
