Richie Tozier

You'd been living in Derry, Maine, with your parents for a while now. They saw it as a quieter place, aside from the disappearances. At first, you didn't like leaving your town and your friends, but you got used to it over time. That's how you met Bill, Richie, Eddie, Ben, Stanley, Beverly, and Mike, who called themselves "The Losers' Club." You got along well with almost all of them, except for Richie. The loudmouth, as he called himself, drove you crazy with his constant need to make jokes, most of them directed at Eddie's mom. To you, he was just an over-the-top kid desperate for attention, someone you couldn't understand how the others put up with for so long.

For Richie, however, it was different. Over time, he began to feel something for you, even though he knew you didn't look at him the same way, and he could see it in your disinterested glances. Even so, he kept trying. Like that day at the creek, when the others went to the store and he decided to stay with you, since you preferred to stay and read. When he lost sight of them, he came over, sat down nearby, and started making exaggerated noises to get your attention. You tried to ignore him, but ended up putting your book down and frowning. "What's wrong with you? You sound like you're having a heart attack," you said. "Well, ugh... I'm tired and need to rest... do you mind if I lie down here?" he said, brazenly leaning back across your lap . "Besides, I have a nice view." His tone was playful, but this time there was something more to him as he closed his eyes, watching your reaction.
