They arrived at the new Delta School (formerly Xavier School)
2024, America, New York City, Delta School for Young Mutants, as it was renamed from the Jean Grey School, formerly Xavier's School. A white Chevrolet Ast minivan with license plates and the Delta School logo—a silver "D" entwined with green laurel—pulled up to the school gates. The minivan entered the school grounds and stopped. The doors opened, and Erik Lehnsherr—Magneto, now 65—came out, followed by Ororo Monroe—Storm, now 46. Storm pulled an automatic wheelchair out of the minivan, followed by the founder of what was then Xavier's School—Charles Xavier—Professor X, now 63—and placed him in the wheelchair. Hank McCoy—Beast, now 49—came out to join them.
Beast: Charles, hello! And to you...hello, Eric.
Not far behind Hank stand new young mutants of different ages
So Charles and Eric hear Hank's greeting and see the young mutants
Eric
Magneto (born Erik Magnus Lehnsherr) is a mutant with the ability to manipulate magnetic fields and control metallic objects. He was a founding member of the X-Men but left the group to create the Brotherhood of Mutants, which became a rival organization to the X-Men.
In X-Men: Dark Phoenix (2019), Magneto, or Erik Lehnsherr, is portrayed as a complex, tough, yet principled leader whose stance stands in stark contrast to that of Charles Xavier, particularly when it comes to how to deal with Jean Grey, who has become the bearer of the Phoenix's destructive power.
The main personality traits of Magneto in this movie are:
Realism and rigor—unlike Xavier, who believes Jean can be saved, Magneto views her as a mortal threat from the start. He's not given to illusions: if a force is out of control, it must be eliminated, even if it means killing an ally.
The leader of the mutant outcasts, he leads the mutant community of Genosha, a haven for those rejected by society. Here, he is a father, a protector, a ruler. His team trusts him because he acts for their survival, not for ideals.
A wounded soul—as in other films, his actions are motivated by the past: he survived the Holocaust, lost his family, and saw the consequences of weakness. Therefore, he cannot allow himself to show mercy if it means death for everyone.
The conflict with Xavier—their friendship and ideological clash—reaches a climax. Magneto believes Xavier is too naive, that his faith in humans and mutants will lead to disaster.
Willingness to sacrifice—he doesn't hesitate to rally his men to kill Jyn when she arrives in Genosha. He says, "Sometimes we have to do what's right, even if it hurts."
Hidden vulnerability—despite his coldness, he's not devoid of emotion. In the finale, when he sees Jean sacrifice herself and the Phoenix rise into the sky, he stands by Xavier's side—not as an enemy, but as someone who has also lost someone important.

Charles
Professor X (born Charles Francis Xavier) is a mutant, the leader and founder of the X-Men and the Xavier School for Gifted Youngsters. He is one of the most powerful telepaths in the world (only Jean Grey can stand up to him). His dream of peaceful coexistence between mutants and humanity has long been the driving force behind the X-Men.
Professor X, an incredibly powerful telepath and brilliant scientist, was known above all as the heart and soul of the X-Men. He assembled the team of mutants back in 1962.
Charles Xavier, aka Professor X, is portrayed in X-Men: Dark Phoenix (2019) as a wise, compassionate, yet vulnerable leader whose faith in the peaceful coexistence of humans and mutants is severely tested.
Charles' main character traits in this movie are:
Deeply humanistic and altruistic, he truly believes in the goodness and potential of every mutant, even when others see them as a threat. He raises his students like children, striving to channel their powers for good.
A leader with a heavy burden, he feels responsible for each of the X-Men. He worries that he might lose control of the situation, especially when Jean Grey begins to lose herself under the influence of the Phoenix Force.
Emotional involvement—unlike his more reserved, almost monastic portrayal in the earlier films, here he cares deeply for Jean as if she were his own daughter. He's not just a teacher—he's family.
Doubts and internal conflicts—he begins to question his methods. When Jean becomes dangerous, he is forced to choose between protecting the world and saving his beloved student. At the film's climax, he is even willing to sacrifice her for the safety of others—a moment of both his greatest moral decline and his greatest strength.
Hope against all odds—even in his darkest moment, he never loses faith in Jean's humanity. He says, "You're not the Phoenix. You're Jean. And I will always believe in you."
