In Xavier's illusion, a girl (Jason) asks him if he's found all the mutants yet, and he replies that he's trying—there are so many. She asks him to focus. Xavier is close to harming the mutants. In the real world outside Cerebro, soldiers hear someone approaching and point their guns at him. Magneto and Mystique calmly walk toward Cerebro. Magneto puts on his helmet to prevent Jason's illusions from affecting him. Inside, Xavier focuses on all the mutants. Magneto finally manages to open the doors, and Cerebro stops working. Xavier doesn't understand what happened, and the girl seems frightened. Suddenly, William Stryker appears behind Magneto and Mystique, shooting them both with tranquilizer darts in front of Charles, then changing the magazine and shooting Jason. He removed the helmet from Magneto, who was sleeping under the influence of the drug, and placed an inhibitor ring on his hand, and Mystique shot him with a pistol.
