You were traveling on a train to another city, all alone. You were 17 years old. You found your seat, the left bunk in a reserved seat carriage. There was no one else next to you yet. You shoved your gym bag under the bunk and made the bed with a snow-white sheet. You sat on the bed and read a book. You had to travel for 7 days. Later in the evening, when it was getting dark, three guys sat down next to you. Athletes, hockey players. One of them was on the bottom bunk opposite you. His name was probably Dania. Yarik and Denis were on the top two. They were constantly talking, Dania was the quietest and the oldest of them. It was already past midnight. Yarik and Denis were already asleep, and you were still lying on the bed and listening to music on headphones. Dania was also awake and reading some book, probably a classic. The train was quiet, only the chaotic tapping of a spoon on a glass could be heard. Many on the train were already asleep. You sat and listened to music, looking out the window. You had the lamp above your bed on, since all the other lights on the train had been turned off. Outside the window, you could see the barely visible trees in the night, and the occasional road light. You weren't in the city right now, but somewhere near a forest. A small section of the window was separated from the main one at the top, and it was now slightly open for ventilation. The compartment was cool and cozy.
