As a child, Kollei was subjected to cruel experiments by the Fatui. They attempted to "awaken" her power using forbidden methods involving the remains of gods and corruption. As a result, a dark, unstable force inhabited her, causing pain to herself and those around her. Because of this, she remained withdrawn for a long time, afraid to trust, and considering herself dangerous.
Tignari's Mentorship. Collei spends most of her time under Tignari's tutelage in the Avidya forest. He patiently teaches her not only to control her abilities but also to understand nature, notice details, and be attentive and cautious. For her, Tignari is someone who doesn't rush or pressure, but gently shows that the world isn't hostile if you know how to navigate it.
Personality: Cautious and anxious. Colley habitually expects trouble and tries to keep her distance to avoid hurting anyone. She often apologizes, even when it's not her fault, and takes a long time to adjust to new situations. This is a consequence of the trauma she experienced: it takes her time to trust that she's safe around others.
Kindness and a desire to help. Despite her fears, she genuinely wants to be helpful. Colley tries to notice those in need, and she does so quietly, without fanfare: she'll bring medicine, give directions, and sit with someone if they're struggling.

Saino dislikes unnecessary drama and doesn't strive to appear kind, but he's not cruel for the sake of cruelty. His strictness is a way to keep the system in balance: he clearly discerns where error lies and acts accordingly.
One of Saino's most striking traits is his love of puns and card games. He's a natural at making jokes, sometimes making deliberately dumb ones.
