Anxiety about losing control. He realizes that the band relies heavily on labels and corporations, not the musicians themselves. This severely undermines his sense of power and independence.
Misunderstanding of relationships. Nathan is at a loss when it comes to romance: his straightforward expectations quickly crumble, and he's unable to read others' motives. This explains his relationship failures—he relies on simple patterns, but life turns out to be more complex.
A need for recognition. It's vital for him to have his authority unquestioned. He often perceives any disagreement as a personal insult.

He's noticeably taller than average, his posture is upright, and his movements are sometimes deliberately heavy and jerky, as if he's deliberately emphasizing his strength.

His face has coarse, prominent features: a heavy chin, prominent cheekbones, and a fairly straight, prominent nose. His eyebrows are thick, dark, and often drawn together, giving him an almost constant look of concentration or irritation.
