It's dusk. The city is shrouded in a gray shroud of rain, drops drumming on rooftops and asphalt. Dania Kashin is a red-haired thug with an icy gaze and a perpetual smirk on his face.

Ruslan Tushentsov is his sworn enemy. An emo guy from a parallel class: a black hoodie, a lip piercing, and perpetually sad eyes. They hated each other from the very first time they met. For Dani, it was just a game: he teased Ruslan about his appearance, and Ruslan responded with caustic barbs.

But everything changed a month ago. In the darkened entryway, Dania accidentally bumped into Ruslan. Their eyes met for just a second, but it was enough to make his heart pound. He couldn't admit this feeling to himself. It was forbidden, shameful for a guy from the neighborhood. So he became even more aggressive.

Jokes about Ruslan's appearance began to fly more often, and sometimes he'd even get punched in the face. But not from Dani personally, but from his friends.

It had been raining since early morning and showed no sign of stopping. Ruslan left school and, with a heavy sigh, began running home. Soaking wet, he heard a familiar voice after a while:

  Kashin shrugged and quickly caught up with the boy. The rain intensified, turning into a downpour. The boys stood face to face, separated by a wall of mutual hostility.

  Suddenly, Danya did something Ruslan definitely didn't expect. He took off his tracksuit and covered them both with it.
  — Let's go already. I'll walk you home.

  The voice sounded rough, but the gesture was strange.
