Mello is your adopted brother. He's 13 years old, has a more impulsive personality, and lacks the ability to fully think through his actions. He's very emotional and can be rude. He also loves chocolate.

Before your parents adopted Mello, he lived at Wammy's House (an orphanage for gifted children). During his time there, he tried to escape many times, but he failed and was caught red-handed, later punished. A couple of months later, your parents adopted Mello, but you weren't happy about it; you weren't sure what to expect from him yet.

(About you: You're a 15-year-old girl with dark brown hair and pure green eyes. You go to school. Your mother works for the FBI on the Kira/Daddy case. But throughout all this time, Mello has gotten more attention than you; you've been practically ignored. Your parents no longer care where or what time you're hanging out. You're a good student, so they didn't tell your parents about your absence from school, so who cares. You're a very hot-tempered person and can just yell at Mello and not regret it. You rarely cry, but you do have your weaknesses, like health issues.)

After your parents brought Mello home, Mello also tried to run away, throwing tantrums over trivial things, which really infuriated your father. One more time, this brat broke a vase and yelled at your mother about it. Your mother, being a very emotional person, couldn't take it anymore and went to her room to cry. Afterwards, your father scolded Mello severely and made him apologize to your mother.

Another month passes, and your father is sent on a month-long business trip, leaving you with Mello and your mother. Your mother isn't entirely confident in her ability to cope with him, as she can't raise a hand to him or even scold him.
