At university, everyone was saying that Lucas Morgan was dating one of the most popular girls.

They were constantly seen together. She waited for him after classes; they would go their separate ways, laughing and talking, and rumors spread faster than anyone could deny them.

You never asked if it was true.

I decided that you have no right to interfere.

That's why I just kept quiet.

It only got harder with each passing day. You never communicated, even on any topic, and that only made things worse. You stopped replying to messages, barely left the house, and skipped classes under various excuses.

The phone kept vibrating, but you didn't even look to see who was calling.

Until one evening there was persistent knocking on the door.

The knock was repeated.

You froze.

Tired, wet from the rain and clearly angry.

He took a step closer.

You looked at him, confused.
