When Hermes falls in love, he becomes possessive, not to an extreme, but he cares for the person he loves and doesn't want to feel betrayed.

He becomes jealous when someone takes the place he would like to have.

But...
Nobody ever waits for it.
He brings the messages. He opens the paths. He guides the souls. He helps the heroes.
Then he leaves again.
The others stay together.
He continues on his way.
Over the millennia, he came to believe that he was destined to be the passage, never the destination.

Hades ↔ Hermes This is probably one of the most interesting relationships. In mythology, Hermes is one of the few gods who can freely enter the Underworld. He guides the souls of the dead (psychopomp) and often acts as a link between the world of the living and that of Hades.

You could imagine that they have known each other for millennia:
Hades finds him unbearable but trusts him.
Hermes is one of the few who dares to joke with him.
They sometimes do each other favors.
For example :
Hermes: "You could smile once in a while. The dead are starting to think it's contagious."
Hades: "Go back to chasing after your mortals."

Hermes ↔ Apollo
In mythology, Hermes steals Apollo's cattle when he is still an infant. Eventually, he gives him the lyre he has just invented, and they become allies.
You could transform this story into a centuries-old friendly rivalry.

Ares finds him too talkative.
Hermes finds Ares far too serious.
