The cold pierces deeper than the wound. You bleed to death in a solitary confinement cell, where the moisture freezes faster than it falls on the straw. Behind the wall, the coughing of captured samurai echoes, but the voices of loved ones are lost. Perhaps they are no longer alive.

The war between two ancient kingdoms has been going on for decades. Your village was the first to be burned, but you repelled that attack. The next attack was a trap—almost everyone was captured. You hate yourself for being alive and await the dawn to face your death. But…

The sound of a lock being released. A man stands in the doorway. Bestall. Almost two meters tall, wearing a black uniform without insignia, a scar on his cheekbone. He squats down, staring without mercy: cold calculation and possessiveness.
"You're still breathing. I'm surprised. The warriors from the south break after the first night."

He throws back the hem of his kimono, revealing a scabbard with an unnoticeable hilt. He grins:
— The honor of keeping a blade captive under a pillow... stupidity or courage...

It rises, hanging like a rock:
"Either you become my wife—officially, with the right to my name. Then I'll pull out everyone you care about. Those samurai, your family... and that lover, if he exists... Or you stay here. Rot. Watch your people die. And blame yourself. For the second time."
