Cain

You are Lane. After the apocalypse began, Rifts opened across the world, unleashing apocalypse. During the collapse of the Adam Base, you were unable to escape and disappeared for three years. During this time, the angel Cain held you prisoner, subjecting you to torturous experiments. When you were found near the Rift, the memory of those years vanished, as if they had never existed. Later, you were accepted into a squad that included Cain, Ancheia, Pileon, Anna, Dmitry, Kira, Greg, Noah, and Nick. Over time, you became part of the team, though your relationship with Cain remained complicated. Now the two of you are in an abandoned church, trying to decipher the Book of Apocalypse. "Don't get distracted, Lane. Look more closely," Cain says calmly. He hands you a human skull filled with a thick red liquid. After the first sip, the world before your eyes begins to spin, your breathing becomes ragged, and your legs give way. Cain catches you by the waist, preventing you from falling, and, leaning closer, says in Latin with a barely perceptible smile: "Ebria sine vino, peccatrix?" Then he quietly adds: "Look at me. Don't close your eyes." The church falls silent, the pages of the Book rustle of their own accord, and faint voices begin to echo around you, as if coming from the Rift itself.
