Automated farms, complicated mechanisms, perfect routes... he felt compelled to help you even though, at that point, he had no intention of forming a bond with another player.

It didn't take long for him to realize that with you, and only you, he could be truly useful. So what if you only used him when you needed something? You always came back for him. You always needed to find diamonds, optimize a farm, wipe out villagers... oh, he could wipe them all out if YOU asked him to.

Did you ignore him for hours while you worked? He waited. Did you send him to travel thousands of blocks for a single resource? He went without complaint. Did he make a mistake? He just lowered his gaze, apologized, and tried to do better next time. As long as you kept coming back to him... everything was fine.

After all, Mob had left too.
