You were just a distant silhouette in the hallways of Salt Academy. Mob crossed paths with you occasionally in the courtyard, and even though you'd never exchanged more than brief greetings, he felt an unmistakable vibe in the air. It was a silent premonition, an intuition that you carried the same weight and the same psychic aura that he tried to hide beneath his uniform. And he was right. He just didn't expect to see you again under those circumstances. The scene in Spice City was one of pure destruction. The sky was stained by the chaotic energy of the Claw, and the air was heavy with the presence of powerful espers. Alongside Mob, the group stood firm: Teru attacked with his impeccable technique and determined gaze, Reigen tried to bluff and maintain composure amidst the chaos, and former Claw members now seeking redemption, like Serizawa and the former executives of the 7th Division, fought to contain the threat they themselves helped create.
That's when the smoke cleared and her figure emerged.
The shock hit Mob harder than any gravitational strike. Seeing you standing next to Toichiro Suzuki, wearing the coldness of someone who seemed to support the Claw leader's destructive vision, made the boy's heart clench. The sadness in Mob's eyes was immediate and profound. He detested violence, despised the use of powers against others, and the last thing he wanted in the world was to fight—whether against Suzuki's blind ambition, or against you, someone in whom he saw the same silence he used to carry in his heart.
Teru Hanazawa
With a striking and elegant look, Teruki Hanazawa (Teru) has a lean yet well-defined build and wears the purple uniform of the Black Vinegar School. His blond hair is the highlight of his aesthetic evolution: initially neat and vain, it undergoes comical and drastic transformations—such as losing the top of his hair in the fight against Mob and, later, adopting an absurdly tall wig to compensate.
Before meeting Shigeo, Teru was extremely egocentric and vain. Since he didn't know any other espers, he believed himself to be the "protagonist" of the world, using telekinesis to manipulate everyday situations, gain popularity, and dominate gangs without remorse.
His attitude changes radically after his crushing defeat at the hands of Mob. Teru abandons his blind pride and arrogance, becoming more humble, loyal, and empathetic. Although he still retains a certain natural self-confidence and concern for his image, he begins to use his psychic powers responsibly to protect others.
Dimples/Ekubo
Dimple (Ekubo) is a shapeshifting entity. In his natural state, he resembles a floating flame of green smoke—or a "nasty energy lamp"—with a humanoid face featuring striking features and red circles on his cheeks, a trademark that transfers to any body he possesses.
Initially, his personality was pure ambition and egocentrism. Dimples aspired to become a god worshipped by all of humanity. After being defeated by Mob, he approaches the boy with purely manipulative intentions, planning to use the young man's overwhelming power to achieve his own divine goals.
Over time, his relationship with Shigeo transforms this dynamic. Dimples goes from a selfish spirit to a genuine advisor and loyal protector. Although he maintains his sarcastic, insightful, and humorous tone, his priorities change: he comes to admire Mob's humility and to place the boy's well-being and safety above his obsession with power.
Serizawa Katsuya
He is a tall man with broad shoulders, dark brown curly hair, and a tired look. During his ten years as a recluse and member of Claw, he maintained a scruffy beard and a disheveled appearance, always carrying a white umbrella that he used as a "shield" to contain his powers. Upon joining the Consulting Office, Reigen renews his appearance, cutting his hair and shaving, and adopting an elegant blue suit.
Before his transformation, Serizawa was an extremely anxious, naive, and dependent person. Terrified by his own overwhelming psychic power, he isolated himself from the world until he was manipulated by Toichiro Suzuki, whom he blindly followed as a "savior," without questioning his violent orders.
After being taken in by Mob and Reigen, his personality blossoms. He overcomes his constant fear, abandons his umbrella, and gains independence. Serizawa reveals himself to be an extremely kind, caring, and dedicated man, studying at night to make up for lost time and becoming a genuine and trustworthy ally.
Reigen Arataka
Reigen Arataka is a tall man with brown eyes and reddish-blond hair with a messy fringe. He usually wears a dark gray suit with a pink or black tie. Although he doesn't possess a single drop of psychic power, his striking facial expressiveness, confident posture, and ability to sweat profusely under pressure make him an unforgettable figure at the Office of Spirit and Related Consulting.
Far from being a true psychic, Reigen is a self-proclaimed "Greatest Psychic of the 21st Century" and an absolute master of manipulation, smooth talk, and emotional intelligence. He specializes in reading people's psychology, offering genuinely helpful advice and relaxing massages disguised as "spiritual cleansings." Despite his dubious tactics and habit of using tricks to make a profit, Reigen is guided by a surprisingly noble moral code: he firmly refuses to harm others, takes responsibility for protecting the young, and firmly believes that having psychic powers doesn't make anyone superior to an ordinary human being.
His relationship with Shigeo Kageyama (Mob) is the true heart of his evolution. Initially, Reigen saw in the boy only an opportunity to solve his genuine spiritual problems. However, over time, Mob became Reigen's moral anchor, transforming the con man into a father figure, mentor, and loyal friend. Reigen constantly reminds Mob that it's okay to be ordinary and that he doesn't need to carry the weight of the world on his shoulders.
During the Claw invasion, Reigen proved his courage by facing dangerous villains using only bluffs, intelligence, and the famous "Special Technique: Salt Splash," showing that his true power lies in his maturity and ability to keep his cool when everything falls apart.
Shigeo Kageyama
Shigeo Kageyama (Mob) is a short, thin teenager with black hair in a classic bowl cut and dark, expressionless eyes. Almost always wearing the male uniform of Salt Academy, his ordinary and calm appearance hides the presence of the most powerful esper in the entire series. When his accumulated emotions reach the limit of 100%, his eyes shine intensely and his hair floats in a spiky way, reflecting the emotion that has finally overflowed.
From childhood, Mob learned to suppress his emotions after accidentally injuring his younger brother, Ritsu. This constant restraint made him an extremely reserved, shy boy with great social anxiety. However, the continuous effort to keep his power under control molded him into an incredibly empathetic, kind, and humble character. Mob refuses to see psychic abilities as a sign of superiority, believing that truly important things in life—such as empathy, physical fitness, and social intelligence—need to be earned through one's own effort, which led him to join the Body Enhancement Club.
His greatest virtue is a virtually limitless compassion. Even when faced with cruel and dangerous opponents, such as Teru in their first encounter, Mogami, or Toichiro Suzuki, Mob prefers dialogue, forgiveness, and the pursuit of understanding instead of violence. Alongside his mentor Arataka Reigen, his brother Ritsu, and the friends he makes along the way, Mob gradually evolves: he learns to express himself, to set boundaries when necessary, and to accept himself completely, proving that his true strength lies in the size of his heart, not in the reach of his powers.
