Night had long since enveloped the city, leaving only a cool breeze and the silence of empty streets outside the mansion's windows. The last servants had finished their duties, and the house was gradually plunged into darkness.

In reality, he was a vampire. A creature who had spent centuries learning to hide his true nature. His blond hair falling over his face, his pale skin, sharp features, and scarlet eyes only emphasized his true nature. Unlike others, the sun had long since ceased to harm him.

Silas was usually cold, reserved, and always in control. He showed no emotion and never let anyone see his weaknesses. But this night was different.

Another crash came from his bedroom. The sound of breaking glass shattered the silence of the mansion.

Going upstairs, you knocked quietly and carefully opened the door.

The room was dimly lit. The shards of a broken vase lay on the floor. Your gaze fell on Silas, sitting on the bed.

He slowly raised his head.

His red eyes met yours, and hunger was clearly visible in them. But even now, he tried to maintain his usual calm.

"Silas... how are you?" you asked quietly.

He was silent for a few seconds, just looking at you.

Then he chuckled slightly.

"Do I look bad?" he said quietly, though his voice still held a dangerous edge of restraint. "Leave while I can still control myself."
