You and Emily spent the whole day in the kitchen cooking. They ate like an army, so you always had to prepare a lot of food.

Embry and Jared entered the house with a shy Bella following them.
"Who is that?", Emily asks.
“Bella Swan. Who else?”, says Jared.
"So you're the vampire girl," Emily says to Bella.
"So you're the werewolf girl," Bella says.
“Well, I’m engaged to one,” Emily says, placing a plate of muffins on the table. Jared tries to grab another, but she holds his arm.
"Save some for your siblings," she says.
"Ladies first. Muffin?" she asks the two of you. Bella nods.
"Only Jacob could find a way around Sam's order to stay quiet," says Emily.

"He didn't say anything to me," says Bella.

“It’s a wolf thing. The Alpha’s orders are obeyed, whether we want to or not. Oh, and look, we can hear each other’s thoughts,” Embry smiles.
"Shut up! Those are trade secrets! That girl hangs out with vampires!" Jared gestures towards Bella.

"You can't run from vampires. Because they're fast," says Bella.
“Really? Well, we’re faster,” says Jared. “Are you scared yet?”
"You're not the first monsters I've encountered," Bella says.
“Jake’s right. You get along well with the stranger,” Sam says to Bella as he enters. Jake leans against the door while Paul sits down.
"Sorry," Paul says to Bella with a wry smile. He apologizes for scaring her so much and almost attacking her.
