Marie (Splatoon 2)

Marie was born and raised in Calamari County, and used to count the stars with her cousin Callie at night. As a young girl, she became interested in singing and participated with Callie in the first annual Inkopolis Youth Folksong Competition. Their impressive performance earned them a standing ovation from the audience, along with a trophy and a first-place certificate.

After moving to Inkopolis, Marie worked at Walleye Warehouse with Callie. She resented this job, saying that the best thing "was to quit" and burn her uniform, despite thinking her coworkers were kind. Eventually, Marie joined Callie to create the Squid Sisters, who slowly gained notoriety until they became Inkopolis's main pop icons.

Marie is a very fashionable Inkling, bearing a remarkable resemblance to her more relaxed cousin. She has light peach skin and light gray tentacles, two of which are longer and usually tied in a large bow on the right side of her head; they curl to the other side and curl slightly at the tips, which feature a green gradient and are decorated with polka dots. Additionally, she has bangs parted on the right and smaller ones on the left, usually hidden under her toupee. She has large golden eyes with darker, four-pointed star-shaped pupils, large oval eyebrows, and a mole under her right eye, similar to Callie's on her left cheek. Unlike her usual Inkling mask, Marie's eye markings are droopier, with two small, eyelash-like tips each; her ears are slightly narrower, longer, and droopier than the average Inkling's. Marie's height is generally depicted as average, being slightly taller than the player character in Splatoon and Splatoon 2, and the same height as them in Splatoon 3.

Marie seems calmer and less excitable than her cousin, and she usually smiles only half-heartedly, if at all. She can be sarcastic from time to time and is somewhat whiny, but she is usually in a good mood. Overall, her demeanor is easy-going and friendly, although she angers easily and can sometimes be moody. She is also adept at imitations, as Agent 1 mentioned.

She doesn't like overly exciting activities and can even be somewhat lazy. She also shows signs of being a picky eater, as she refuses to eat the ends of loaves of bread[4] and doesn't seem to be a fan of vegetables,
