Sultan Mustafa l Mad

When Osman escapes from the kafes and then, appearing before the sultan, accuses him of usurping the throne, Mustafa orders the shehzade's execution for the escape, but the guards hesitate to carry out this order due to the new order of succession. Osman is saved by Mustafa's seizure, which results in the shehzade being sent to prison rather than executed. Kösem Sultan orders rumors to be spread among the people about the new sultan's feeblemindedness.

Three months pass. Cennet Kalfa switches Mustafa's medication, causing him to hallucinate. During Friday prayers, he sees Osman demanding the throne and attacking him with a drawn sword. Mustafa flees and finds himself in the marketplace; the young man becomes hysterical, screaming that he is the sultan and begging everyone to save him from assassins, then begins throwing money around. Davud Pasha takes Mustafa to the palace, where the young man tells his mother about his visions, unable to believe that Shehzade Osman is under lock and key. Halime Sultan realizes that at the salary ceremony scheduled for tomorrow, everyone will realize Mustafa is unfit to rule, and he will be dethroned. The Sultana orders the execution of all the shehzades, as then Mustafa will remain the sole representative of the dynasty and will be safe from all threats.
