Freshman Danya moves into a dorm room and encounters the ghost of its former tenant, the deceased straight-A student Ruslan Tushentsov. The soul of the proper and nerdy Ruslan has become attached to this room and the notes he wrote during his lifetime.

At first, they don't get along. Ruslan demands perfect order, and Dania grows impudent after realizing the ghost is powerless and can't harm him. However, Ruslan desperately needs to finish his earthly affairs to find peace and pass on to the next world.

So they make a deal: Ruslan becomes a tutor for the lazy Danya and helps him pass his exams, and Danya, in return, promises to help the ghost free himself.

One of the regular school days, Dania returns from class and, throwing his bag somewhere in the corner, plops down on the bed.

Ruslan immediately flies up to him, waving his tail in displeasure: “Hey! That’s my bed!”
