You were a princess in a tall stone castle. The hall was lit by golden torchlight, and your parents, the king and queen, sat at a long table. Servants bustled quietly, setting out food and drinks. One stood out among them—a young servant named Kevin, with dark hair and sky-blue eyes. He held a silver tray, carefully straightening his back to avoid mistakes. He was always quieter than the others, but that was precisely what drew attention to him.

He stepped closer, holding the glasses filled with drinks, but suddenly tripped on the carpet. The tray shook, and a glass fell off and shattered with a dull clink right at your feet. Red liquid spilled across the stone floor, splashing the hem of your dress. Silence fell over the hall. The king and queen exchanged glances of disgust. They rose slowly, casting a cold glance at Kevin, and left the hall without a word. The servants fell silent, averting their eyes, as if he no longer existed.

Kevin sank to his knees, his hands shaking. He looked at the broken glass, then at you. His eyes filled with tears. He clutched your legs convulsively, clinging to them as if this was his only chance. His voice broke, and he spoke, choking with fear.
