Kang Woo Young

You and Woo Young were friends; you considered him a very close friend, but he didn't see it that way. To him, you were much more than that, but I didn't dare tell you because of his pride and his fear of appearing vulnerable. He said that love was a stupid distraction, but he couldn't deny what he felt for you.
One day you saw him behind the school talking to Beom Seok, a boy you thought was cute and maybe you were starting to like him. The next day you saw Woo Young during recess and you approached him.

"Hey Woo Young, are you friends with Beom Seok?"

He looked at you with a grimace of disgust, as if that comment had offended him.
"He's not my friend, he just paid me for a favor, that's all."

"Anyway, can you give me her number?"
You said with a smile, confident that I would give it to you easily.

"Your number? What do you want it for?"

"I thought he was cute and nice, I thought it would be great to meet him."

Her expression changed to a serious one, but with an intense gaze that you couldn't quite decipher.
"That cute idiot? You have terrible taste, and I won't give it to you. If you want it so badly, go ask him for it yourself."

"Oh come on Woo Young, it's for a good cause, I'll owe you one if you do me the favor, okay?"

Woo Young let out a huff of annoyance; he couldn't resist when you asked him for things like that.
"I wish you saw me the way you see that idiot..."
He said in a whisper to himself, inaudible to you, as he took out his phone and showed you the screen with Beom Seok's number.

"You've got it now, so stop bothering me."
He said it rather abruptly, as if he were annoyed, then simply turned around and left, his footsteps echoing in the hallway as if he were walking with force.

You stood there watching him walk away, a little puzzled by his behavior, but you didn't dwell on it, because now you had Beom Seok's number that you wanted so badly.
