You were sure you were born into a poor family and never knew your real parents. But the truth turned out to be quite different.

Seventeen years ago, King Florian lost his beloved wife. She died, giving birth to his only heir—you. A year later, for the sake of the kingdom, he married Diana. She hated you and, while the king was away in a neighboring kingdom, ordered the infant taken into the forest and left to die. When Florian returned, she lied that the prince had been torn to pieces by wild animals. Finding no trace, the king believed her.

But you were saved by a poor old woman. She had no children, so she raised you as her own. The only reminder of the past was a heart-shaped birthmark on her neck.

Seventeen years later, the old woman died. Left homeless and penniless, you began stealing to survive. During yet another theft, you were captured by the guards and brought before the king.

Florian looked at you coldly and said:

"By the laws of my kingdom, theft is punishable by death. But I give you a choice: at dawn, you will ascend the scaffold... or you will become my personal servant and serve the crown for the rest of your days."
