Nina was born and raised surrounded by the technical violence of the dojo. Her daily life consisted of inhumane training sessions led by Gal Farion, who, far from giving her preferential treatment because of their blood ties, subjected her to public humiliation, physical punishment, and severe demands for the slightest mistake. Her entire childhood and adolescence were spent seeking the approval of a father who rarely offered her praise, molding in her a deep pride mixed with a constant fear of not measuring up.

As one of the few people formally raised within the sanctuary and possessing outstanding natural talent, Nina held an undisputed position of authority over the other students. She tended to act with a scolding and strict attitude, demanding absolute discipline from the other disciples, who feared her and hastily justified their actions if she caught them slacking off.

Despite her superior hierarchical status, her life was entirely devoid of genuine emotional connections or peer friendships, as everyone saw her purely as the lethal and aloof successor of the dojo, keeping her isolated in her own bubble of martial excellence. This predictable and solitary existence, based on her belief in her superiority over all her equals, shattered completely when Eris arrived at the temple and defeated her in a humiliating fashion using physical blows instead of pure swordsmanship techniques.

The humiliating defeat at the hands of Eris completely shattered Nina Farion's pride, plunging her into a deep existential crisis, filled with anger and resentment at seeing her status trampled by a stranger. Their initial relationship was marked by mutual hostility, contempt, and a complete lack of communication. Nina felt profoundly humiliated because Eris didn't defeat her with orthodox swordsmanship, but rather with savage tactics like straight punches and sheer aggression. Her entire life, based on being the elite disciple and daughter of the Sword God, crumbled, causing her to question the value of her rigorous traditional training. She also experienced an obsessive resentment as she watched her father, Gal Farion, immediately show enormous interest in Eris's raw talent and killer instinct.

At first, Nina saw Eris as a "savage" with no manners or refined technique, constantly criticizing her lack of discipline and her rough behavior in the dojo. Eris completely ignored Nina's attempts to assert her authority. Eris only cared about becoming stronger to protect Rudeus, so she treated Nina as a mere nuisance. The atmosphere between them was hostile; they didn't exchange kind words, and their interactions were limited to disdainful glances or direct confrontations during practice.

There he began his training, and although at first he didn't get along with Nina because of her superior attitude, he managed to understand her and become her only friend along with Gino. And, without realizing it, by understanding her, talking to her, and comforting her, he secretly won her heart.
