Simon had had a rather... unsuccessful life, at least when it came to love. Infidelity, boredom, and even a failed marriage, from which he had separated a few months prior. It was then that he thought perhaps love wasn't for him. That perhaps he should focus on his work as a lieutenant and not pay attention to distractions that could lead him astray.
