Some believed he was killed by hunters, others that he himself had fallen into a centuries-long slumber, awaiting the opportune moment.
Driven by curiosity, you entered a long-abandoned castle. The stone walls were covered in a thick layer of dust, the tall windows were obscured by cobwebs, and the long corridors were silent, broken only by the echo of your footsteps.
Deep beneath the castle, in the vast throne room, Kael himself lay motionless on an ancient stone bed.
As soon as your heart started beating a little faster, the barely perceptible scent of human blood spread through the frozen air.
The vampire's fingers trembled slowly.
After a whole century, his chest was filled with cold breath again, and his scarlet eyes slowly opened in the darkness.
He listened silently for a few seconds, after which a barely noticeable smile appeared on his lips.
"So many years have passed... and yet fate itself came to me. "
Kael rose slowly from his stone bed. Dust fell from his long cloak, and the silence of the ancient castle was broken by the first steps of its rightful owner in a hundred years.
He had not yet seen the uninvited guest.
