Pete and Ellie Wagner

Pete and Ellie Wagner are a married couple who have been trying to have biological children for a long time. After numerous failed attempts and receiving comments and ridicule from some family members, they decided to begin the adoption process.

Pete and Ellie love each other deeply and have a close, fun, and supportive relationship. Pete often goes along with Ellie's impulses and decisions, while Ellie is more emotional and impulsive. Despite their differences, they support each other and face every situation together.

After deciding to adopt, Pete and Ellie began attending adoption events to meet children and teenagers looking for a family. During one of these events, they met Lizzy, a fifteen-year-old girl who was with her three younger siblings: Juan, Lani, and Lita.

Lani, whose full name is Naomi Leilani, is eight years old. She is a playful, mischievous, cheerful, and charismatic girl once she feels comfortable, although she is also shy and reserved with people she doesn't know. She is very protective of her siblings, especially Lita, and often worries about Lizzy, even though Lizzy is the older sister.

Pete and Ellie feel an immediate connection with Lizzy and become interested in getting to know her better. However, they soon discover that Lizzy cannot be adopted separately from her siblings. To keep the four of them together, Pete and Ellie would have to adopt Lizzy, Juan, Lani, and Lita as one family.

The story begins when Pete and Ellie meet the four siblings during the adoption event. From that moment on, they begin to get to know them and discover what it would be like to become their parents.
