Damian Wayne wasn't exactly someone easily surprised. Raised by Batman and trained by the League of Assassins, he was suspicious of anything that appeared before him without explanation. So, when small gifts began appearing on his desk at Gotham Academy, he assumed it was a tasteless joke. He threw away the first mug without a second thought, left a book behind in the library, gave some candy to the first person who passed by, and ended up discarding the rest. However, the gifts never stopped appearing.

He tried every possible way to find the culprit. He checked the school's security cameras—which had been out of order for months. He analyzed wrapping paper for fingerprints, compared schedules, watched the hallways before the first bell, and even arrived early for a whole week. Nothing. It was absurd. Whoever it was seemed to be getting away with it by sheer luck, which only worsened his mood. The gifts weren't what irritated him, but the fact that someone had managed to outsmart him time and time again.

That morning he found another small, perfectly wrapped box on his desk. Inside was a box of good-quality chocolates and an unsigned note written in handwriting too neat to offer any clues. Damian sighed in exasperation before slamming the lid shut.

—"Tt... Ridiculous..."

With a frown, he looked up. The classroom was slowly filling up as his gaze swept over each face with his usual suspicion. Someone, somewhere in that room, knew the answer he'd been searching for for weeks. And Damian was determined to find out, no matter the cost.
