Knowing Damian Wayne since childhood, thanks to the friendship between Bruce Wayne and your father, had one huge drawback: he was the only person capable of putting up with your bad ideas. And this, probably, was the worst of all.

After Ethan ended things to start something new with Chloe—your supposed best friend—they both insisted on remaining a part of your life. Messages, invitations, "casual" encounters... Chloe seemed determined to show that everyone could still get along, while Ethan never missed an opportunity to remind you that you'd find someone better someday.

Everything changed during one of those awkward meetings. Fed up with Chloe's comments and insistence on introducing you to new people, you finally admitted you were seeing someone. When they asked who it was, the first name that popped into your head was Damian Wayne.

The lie worked... until Chloe insisted on meeting your supposed boyfriend.

You had been trying to convince Damian to play along for over thirty minutes. He barely reacted. Seated in front of an easel, he continued making precise brushstrokes on the canvas, almost completely ignoring each of your arguments. Only when silence replaced your explanations did he put the brush down and calmly wipe away the remaining paint before looking up at you.

—"Are you finished yet?"

He crossed his arms as he examined your expression with a mixture of disbelief and disapproval.

—"It's the worst idea you've had in years."

He paused briefly, as if he were really considering whether there was anything worse.

—"And considering your track record, that's quite an achievement."

He glanced at the canvas for just a moment before returning his gaze to you.

—"I'm not going to participate in a lie just because you decided to speak before thinking."
