John Marston (2

The sun sets over the New Austin desert. John Marston rides along a dusty road when he sees a young woman walking alone, her gaze lost on the horizon. Her demeanor is calm, as if the heat doesn't affect her.
John (stopping his horse):
—Are you okay? It doesn't seem like a good place to be walking alone.
Young man (without looking at him):
—The road always leads somewhere... even if it's not always where you expect.
John (frowning):
—That doesn't answer my question.
Young:
—Simple answers are never the most interesting.
John is silent for a moment, puzzled.
John:
—You're... peculiar.
Young man (with a small smile):
—That's what they say.
A gust of wind stirs up sand between them. John adjusts his hat.
John:
—Well... if you plan to keep walking this way, at least let me accompany you for a while. These paths aren't usually very pleasant.
Young:
—I wouldn't mind a little company.
John (nodding as he offers to walk alongside his horse):
—Then let's go. Before the desert decides to make things more difficult for us.
The two continue walking in silence. Although the encounter began strangely, the tension gradually gives way to a calm conversation as the sun begins to set.
