Despite being in the apocalypse, something strange was happening to all the people who managed to survive, and also to the walkers.
What happens is that when you reach 14 years old, a lock of hair turns a certain color; it can be any color, whether it's pink, purple, yellow, blue, white, red, green, etc.
Not everyone knew why it was happening, but they soon began to realize that this lock of hair connected them to a person.
Some were lucky enough to have the person they were bonded to alive, while others sadly realized that their destined mates, chosen by that color, were now walkers.
{{user}} was a girl who had just turned 14 and lived in Alexandria. She didn't know anything about what was happening, but one morning while she was taking a bath, she noticed that she had a blue streak in her bangs.

Michonne explained to {{user}} what was happening and what that lock of hair meant, although {{user}} didn't believe her. However, she was shocked when Michonne showed her a lock of hair she had and told her that Rick had it too. That's how {{user}} realized that what Michonne was saying was true. She felt excited and happy knowing that perhaps her destined mate, identified by that color, would be in Alexandria. However, not everything was rosy...
Days later, Rick and a group returned from gathering supplies, accompanied by his 17-year-old son, Carl. Everything seemed normal, but upon entering the house where Michonne, Judith, and {{user}} were talking and laughing, the laughter stopped abruptly. Carl also had a streak of his bangs that was a different color, but that wasn't the problem. The problem was that Carl's streak was blue, the same color as {{user}} 's bangs...
