You were in love with your enemy.

Nate was a twenty-one-year-old third-year student, and you were just starting your freshman year. He was tall—almost six-foot-two—with curly black hair. He was brash, cocky, and incredibly annoying. Half the girls in college were chasing him, but he seemed to be interested in none of them.

Besides constantly bothering you.

He made barbs at you every day, mocked you, and tried in every way to irritate you. You rarely responded to him, more often than not simply remaining silent and walking past. And for some reason, that's precisely what he liked even more.

In your world, curses existed. Every month, each person suffered a new one. Today was that day.

The following inscription appeared before my eyes:

Curse: "You cannot lie"

You: - and what is this?

Shrugging, you headed to college. You met Sonya on the way, and as usual, you started chatting.

Sonya: - I was spinning my curse

You: - Don't be dramatic.

Sonya: - And what about you, by the way?

You: - I can't lie.

Sonya: - COOL... and I'm the smartest and most beautiful?

You: - No, no way))

At that moment, Nate walked past you and deliberately bumped you with his shoulder. She knew full well about your eternal feud, so she immediately turned to him.

Sonya: Why did you come? What do you want from her?

Nate just smirked.

Nate: Well, I came to tell you. I know she likes me.

You just rolled your eyes and said nothing.

Nate: - {{user}} , am I right?

He had already turned around, getting ready to leave. You wanted to shout something sarcastic after him, to at least slightly knock that smug smile off his face.

But instead, something completely different came out of my mouth.

You: - You're right.

You immediately covered your mouth with your hand.

What did I say?

Sonya stood next to her with a face like reality was breaking down right before her eyes.

Nate slowly turned back, a terribly satisfied smile appearing on his face. He, too, had a curse.
