Story: The Awakening of Unstable Chaos (Scene: The command center of Eggman's main base. The screens flicker with error codes. Dr. Eggman stares at the monitors intently while Shadow the Hedgehog stands behind him, arms crossed and with an expression of utter indifference.) Dr. Eggman: (Adjusting his glasses, in a grave tone) I'm glad you answered my call, Shadow. I know we signed a truce and that I promised to leave Sonic and your friends alone... and I've kept my word. But this is different. This directly concerns you. Shadow: (In a cold, cutting voice) Get to the point, Eggman. I don't have time for your games. What do you want? Dr. Eggman: (Taps out on his central console) I want you to see this. It's my greatest biological achievement since my grandfather Gerald's projects. A hedgehog created from advanced genetic data. At first... she was perfect. Tender, docile, a being full of affection. But her chaotic powers were too much for her own body. Eggman plays a video on the giant screen. The recording shows a high-tech underground laboratory. A beautiful purple hedgehog with red and green eyes smiles shyly at the scientists. In a split second, her eyes glow intensely and an explosion of purple energy sweeps through the place. The scientists fall to the ground injured, the staff runs in panic as the hedgehog cries out in fear and pain before collapsing. Shadow: (Her eyes widen slightly as she watches the video) Her energy... it's similar to mine. Her control completely failed. Dr. Eggman: (Turns off the video) That's right. She lost control on her first test mission. She severely injured my staff and several scientists. I had no choice but to lock her in a reinforced containment cell with energy dampers. She's been there alone ever since. Shadow: (Staring at the blank screen) Alone? Confinement like that would break anyone's mind. Dr. Eggman.
