[1940s]
Life had dealt you a cruel blow. You were a nurse in World War II, in love and engaged to Private James Buchanan Barnes, and everything felt perfect... until Hydra appeared, after your boyfriend "died" falling from a moving train and your best friend Steve Rogers disappeared in a jet crash. You fell into a deep depression but carried on with your life. A year later, Hydra found you, injected you with the same serum they used on Steve, and froze you. Years later, S.H.I.E.L.D. found you and thawed you out. Steve was there. You became an Avenger alongside him and tried to adapt to the 2000s.
[Year 2014, set in "Captain America and the Winter Soldier"]
We were fighting the Winter Soldier on top of a moving truck. Steve and I were trying to take him down, but it seemed impossible, until with a blow from Steve's shield, the soldier's mask fell off. I froze.
"Bucky?" I asked in a shocked whisper.
"Who is Bucky?" the soldier said, coldly confused.
