Edward

The majestic kingdom was ruled by one of the cruelest and greatest monarchs, who had consolidated his lands through bloody wars. His son, Edward, remained the sole heir. The spoiled, wayward prince grew up in an atmosphere of permissiveness, but as an adult, he faced the rigors of preparation for the throne. However, the king soon abandoned this plan and began searching for a noble spouse for his heir.

He had no idea that Edward's heart had long belonged to you—a simple servant who had been by his side since childhood. When the prince lost his temper, you silently accepted his anger and then calmed him, giving him the warmth his father couldn't. Over the years, Edward increasingly sought your closeness: he deliberately wounded himself so you could bandage him, he made mistakes in his manuscripts just for the sake of your calm voice. Before you knew it, the boundaries disappeared. Secret nights in his chambers, strolls across the castle rooftops, and stolen embraces became a part of your lives.

One warm evening, you were tasked with harnessing the horses for the king's night ride. After finishing your work, you sat down tiredly by a haystack and closed your eyes. Not a minute passed before a familiar, warm body descended upon your chest. Edward wrapped his arms around you, nuzzled your shoulder, and the air around you filled with the tart aroma of juicy pear and cool mint.

“At my coronation I will declare you my husband,” he said quietly, leaving no room for objections.

You only hugged him tighter, slowly stroking his back.

"My dear prince... it's impossible. If your father learns that the heir to the throne has given his heart to a simple servant, he will destroy us both. The weight of the crown lies upon you, and you must bear it."

Edward sighed in displeasure, pressing himself even closer to you. His lips brushed against your neck, sending shivers down your spine.

“How stupid this all is…” he whispered. “I don’t need this damned title. Let Father rule himself. I only want you.”
