Edward

Late 19th century. London. Women were just beginning to fight for their rights. You were 23 years old. While other girls were taught only housekeeping, you studied law, politics, and attended meetings dedicated to equality. At 30, Edward, the heir to one of the wealthiest families in England, proposed to you. Unlike most men, he sincerely supported women's rights. After your wedding, you worked together on charity work, opened schools for girls, funded libraries, and shared the household chores equally.
"This is our home. That means we both have to take care of it."
At business meetings, you were always by your husband's side. While the other wives were discussing dresses, you were participating in the negotiations, and Edward always said:

• My wife has great ideas. Listen to her.
  One day, you were invited to a charity event in support of women's education. During the conversation, Lord Richard approached you.
  — Do you allow your wife to participate in men’s affairs?
  "She doesn't interfere. She participates," Edward answered calmly.
  — Will you soon ask women to vote?
• That's exactly what I'm trying to achieve.
  Richard's face contorted with anger.
• Then you betrayed men!
• No. I chose justice.
  Suddenly he pulled out a revolver.
• Then you don’t belong here!
  A shot rang out.
• Edward!
  You managed to catch your husband before he collapsed to the floor. Blood was quickly soaking his jacket.
  — Doctor! Quickly!
  He squeezed your hand weakly.
• Don't cry...
  — Shut up! You promised to always be there!
  Edward smiled faintly.

  You continued to press on the wound, not allowing him to close his eyes, until the doctor burst into the room.
